This Land Is Your Land will feature performances by Sheryl Crow, Cat Power, Henry Rollins (in a special spoken word set), Mike Ness, Son Volt and Sarah Lee Guthrie & Johnny Irion, in addition to an exhibit showcasing historical artifacts and rare video footage from the Woody Guthrie and John Steinbeck archives. A portion of the ticket proceeds from This Land Is Your Land will benefit the John Steinbeck and Woody Guthrie family foundations, organizations intent on preserving the manuscripts and materials of, and educating the public about, John Steinbeck and Woody Guthrie. Tickets for this special event on September 20th at the Sleep Train Pavilion at Concord will go on sale to the public on Sunday, August 24th at 10am at Livenation.com.
John Steinbeck has been called "the Woody Guthrie of American authors," and Woody Guthrie has been called "the soundtrack to Steinbeck." These icons of 20th century American art are bound by their writings (Grapes of Wrath, Dust Bowl Ballads), their concerns (plight of the common people, fate of the natural environment) and, now, through their families (Sarah Lee Guthrie, granddaughter of Woody Guthrie, is married to Johnny Irion, great nephew of John Steinbeck). Themes depicted by John Steinbeck and Woody Guthrie more than half a century ago still resonate with Americans concerned about climate change, income disparity, and home foreclosures. This Land Is Your Land aims to bridge the decades and the generations, and, through a festival of music, art, and spoken word, celebrate John Steinbeck and Woody Guthrie and the American spirit, one of resilience and resolve.
Items on display from the John Steinbeck archives include signed first editions of Steinbeck's novels, copies of private correspondence between Steinbeck and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., as well as other historical and literary figures, and original one sheets from movies of Steinbeck including The Grapes of Wrath, Viva Zapata, The Wayward Bus and more.
Historical artifacts on display from the Woody Guthrie Archives include original lyrics, artwork and photographs, including his Dust Bowl Ballads and other materials which express Woody’s ever-present possibility of social justice, the power of activism and his love for the great spirit in each of us.
Each of the artists performing at This Land Is Your Land were handpicked for their dedication to social activism, environmental causes and human rights.

Historical artifacts on display from the Woody Guthrie Archives include original lyrics, artwork and photographs, including his Dust Bowl Ballads and other materials which express Woody’s ever-present possibility of social justice, the power of activism and his love for the great spirit in each of us.
Each of the artists performing at This Land Is Your Land were handpicked for their dedication to social activism, environmental causes and human rights.

Tickets for This Land Is Your Land are on sale Sunday, August 24h at 10am at Livenation.com. Tickets can be purchased with no service charge at the venue box office on Sundays between 10am and 2pm. San Francisco, CA (March 24, 2008) – After performing 80 shows in 12 European countries for a staggering 1.3 million fans over the past year alone, legendary superstar George Michael will be bringing his smash 25 LIVE tour to North American Arenas in the summer of 2008, including a local show at the HP Pavilion in San Jose on June 19th, in support of his new retrospective record. This will be Michael's first North American tour in 17 years. His last Bay Area performance was on October 1st, 1991 at the Oakland Coliseum. The new record, titled Twenty-Five, will be released April 1st and is a 29-song, 2-CD set featuring several new songs (including duets with superstars Paul McCartney and Mary J. Blige) in addition to many of Michael's iconic songs from both his solo and WHAM! career. In addition, a companion 2-disc DVD of 40 videos will also be made available.
The 25 LIVE tour broke several ticket sales records, most notably in Copenhagen. Michael's concert at The Parken Stadium sold over 50,000 tickets in the matter of minutes, shattering the previous ticket sales record at the venue, formerly held by U2.
The North American leg of the 25 LIVE tour will kick off in San Diego on June 17th and will continue through San Jose, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Seattle, Vancouver, Minneapolis, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, New York and several other major cities. The tour will incorporate 22 shows over the course of seven weeks and Michael will perform material taken from the entire span of his career, including some classic Wham! tracks.

In 2007, The Police thrilled millions of fans around the globe. Their much heralded tour, which has sold over 2.5 million tickets, garnered numerous accolades including: Major Tour of The Year (Pollstar), as well as “Tour of the Year” and “Top Selling Tour of 2007” (Billboard Magazine).
Announced today, The Police will return to North America this summer to play their final area appearances in a number of arenas and amphitheaters predominantly in markets where they did not perform in 2007.
In 2007, The Police concert schedule included sold out performances at many of the most historic and renowned stadiums around the world including: Fenway Park (Boston); Wrigley Field (Chicago); and Dodger Stadium (Los Angeles) along with Twickenham Stadium (London) Stade de France (Paris) and River Plate Stadium (Buenos Aires). As already confirmed, The Police will return to Europe this summer for a select number of prestigious festival events including such performances at the Isle of Wight and Hyde Park Festivals in the UK, the Rock In Rio Festival in Spain, and the TW Festival in Belgium. The Police will also return to Germany, France, Spain and Italy performing at various arenas and stadiums through June and July.
Elvis Costello and The Imposters will join The Police for the North American portion of this year’s tour. Also spanning a career of 30 years, Elvis Costello and The Attractions were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2003. He has received a number of Grammy nominations for his recent albums When I Was Cruel, The Delivery Man and for his 2006 collaboration with Allen Toussaint, The River in Reverse. His songs have been recorded by a great number of artists with a list as diverse as his range of musical styles including: No Doubt, Solomon Burke, Dusty Springfield, Roy Orbison and Johnny Cash.
